SECTION I

Definitions — What Freemasonry Is (and Is Not)

Before we can trace Freemasonry’s origins, influence, and theology, we must define what it claims to be, what secular sources say it is, what the church assumes it is, and what Scripture and Identity-based research reveal it to be.

There is no single definition of Freemasonry. It presents many faces—philosophical, charitable, fraternal, symbolic, educational, moral, and at times, religious. Its public description is intentionally vague, while its inner system operates through secrecy, oaths, veiled language, and allegory.
Freemasonry wears a mask.

What Freemasonry Says It Is — The Public Face

According to introductory lodge literature:

"Freemasonry is a system of morality, veiled in allegory and illustrated by symbols."

“It is a fraternity of men dedicated to intellectual enlightenment, charity, and brotherly love.”

On websites and brochures, Masonry portrays itself as:

A moral fellowship
A charitable brotherhood
A philosophical society
A character-building institution
A supporter of religious freedom and tolerance

Masonic manuals stress that Masonry is not a religion but “religious” in nature—requiring belief in a Supreme Being, encouraging prayer, building spiritual temples, and speaking of eternal life. They deny it is a replacement for faith, while using sacred language, rituals, theology, and a worship system.

This is Masonry’s first mask:
​​ not a religion—but unmistakably religious
​​ not a church—but imitates worship, doctrine, ritual, and brotherhood
​​ not doctrine—but teaches belief about God, salvation, death, and light

What the Church Assumes It Is — The Harmless Civic Lodge

Many pastors and Christians assume Masonry is merely:

“A men's club,”
“A charity organization,”
“Business handshake connections,”
“A patriotic institution,”
“Shriners who help children and run hospitals,”
“A moral fellowship—harmless, neutral, not spiritual.”

Some even believe it to be Christian-friendly because:

• Many churches host Masonic funerals

• Ministers and deacons are members

• Masonic symbols appear in graveyards and church architecture

• Many founding fathers and judges were Masons

Yet historically, the Church knew better.

• Early Baptists, Methodists, Lutherans, Presbyterians, and the Catholic Church condemned Freemasonry as anti-Christian, secretive, deceptive, and spiritually dangerous, forbidding membership.

• Multiple denominations declared its oaths and rituals blasphemous and irreconcilable with Biblical faith.

The modern church, however—especially under ecumenical, Judeo-Christian, and universal brotherhood ideology—no longer recognizes the danger.

Freemasonry now sits in the choir loft, behind the pulpit, in the church trustee board, and in the denominational leadership.

This is Masonry’s second mask:
It appears harmless—because the church fell asleep.

What Encyclopedias, Historians & Scholars Call Freemasonry

“Freemasonry is a fraternal organization originating from medieval stonecutters' guilds, which developed into speculative Masonry in the 18th century, teaching moral philosophy through symbolic ritual.”

They define it as:

• A secret society

• Built on degrees, oaths, and ritual initiation

• Using allegory and symbolism to transmit philosophy, morality, and brotherhood

• Historically associated with revolutionary politics, Enlightenment humanism, religious tolerance, and secular governance

These definitions are technically true, but do not tell the full story.
They describe the outer shell, but not the inner doctrine.

What Identity-Aware Christian Research Reveals

Through Peters, Earl Jones, Mohr, Swift, Lindstedt, Emry, and others — along with Masonic historians and encyclopedists — a clearer picture emerges:

Freemasonry is a progressive initiation into a humanistic religious worldview, based not on revelation, but on reason, allegory, and universal brotherhood.
It uses Biblical language and imagery — but empties it of its meaning.
It presents “Light” — but it is not the Light of Christ (John 1:9).
It speaks of a “Temple” — but it is not the Temple of God (1Cor. 3:16).
It worships “The Great Architect of the Universe” — but it is not Yahweh, nor Jesus, nor the Spirit — but a composite deity (Jah-Bul-On), suitable for all religions.
It does not confess Jesus Christ, and does not allow His name in prayer.
It promotes brotherhood without covenant, salvation without Jesus Christ, enlightenment without the Holy Spirit — and unity without Truth.

Freemasonry borrows Scripture’s vocabulary, but not its theology.
It borrows Yahweh’s titles, but not His covenant.
It borrows the Temple, replacing the Cornerstone (Jesus Christ) with Hiram Abiff, “the Widow’s Son.”

Freemasonry is a man-made religious and philosophical system, using degrees, symbols, and secret oaths to guide men toward a universal brotherhood based on human reason, rather than divine revelation. It replaces Jesus Christ’s exclusive Truth with an all-inclusive Light, and redefines God, salvation, and identity in accordance with humanistic and occult ideals.

SECTION II

Origins — Mythological, Historical, and Identity-Based

Freemasonry presents itself as ancient — not merely old, but primordial, claiming to descend from Adam, Enoch, Noah, Solomon’s Temple, the mystery religions of Egypt, the philosophers of Greece, and the Knights Templar. These origin claims are not historical, but allegorical — designed to position Masonry as the heir of all wisdom traditions, the guardian of “Ancient Light,” and the secret teacher of spiritual destiny.

The Mythological Origins (What Freemasonry claims)

Masons are taught (especially in higher degrees) that their order is connected to or descended from:

• Adam — the first builder (apron symbolism echoes this)

• Enoch — builder of the underground vault, keeper of secret wisdom

• Nimrod — “mighty builder,” builder of Babel

• Noah — the first “Grand Master,” Noachide moral law

• Solomon and Hiram Abiff — builders of the Temple, masters of “the lost Word”

• Pythagoras, Druids, Magi, Egyptian priests, Templars — keepers of mysteries

• Rosicrucians, Kabbalists, and alchemists — guardians of the secret science of Light

These are symbolic, not literal origin claims — but Freemasonry uses them to establish a spiritual image:

Masonry is timeless.
Masonry is the keeper of Light.
Masonry is older than Christianity — and therefore not subject to it.

Albert Pike (33°, Morals & Dogma) writes:

“Masonry is the Ancient Universal Religion — that which was practiced by Noah, Adam, and Enoch. Masonry is older than all the churches and all the religions.”

But history, archaeology, and Scripture tell a very different story.

The Historical Origins — Freemasonry as a Modern Invention

Freemasonry — as an actual organized fraternity — did not exist before the 1600s.

So—Freemasonry is not ancient in practice, structure, or organization.
It developed during the Age of Enlightenment, the era that replaced:

Freemasonry is not the world’s oldest religion — it is one of the world’s first global humanist religions.

The Pivotal Moment: Anderson & Desaguliers (1723)

When organizations shift from historical to ideological, a document often marks that change.
For Freemasonry, that moment came in 1723, when two men — James Anderson (a Presbyterian minister) and John Desaguliers (a crypto-Jewish scientist and Grand Master) — completely rewrote Masonry into what it is today.

• Removed the name of Jesus Christ entirely

• Removed the requirement of Christianity

• Allowed all religions to join, provided they believed in “a Supreme Being”

• Introduced the motto:

Fatherhood of God — Brotherhood of Man

• Introduced Noahide (Jewish) moral law as the new spiritual foundation

This transition turned Freemasonry into a new religion:
​​ Religious — but not Biblical
​​ Spiritual — but not Christian
​​ Moral — but not covenantal
​​ Inclusive — but not truthful

It became the first formal ecumenical religion — built not on divine revelation, but human reason, and human unity.

Identity-Based Historical Perspective

From Identity/Kingdom/Covenant sources—Freemasonry emerges as:

• Not the inheritance of Biblical Light — but the human attempt to replace it

• A continuation of Mystery Babylon, adopted by Enlightenment-era thinkers

• An intellectual, political, and religious tool to unite all people under brotherhood — without Jesus Christ, without Law, and without Identity
  A structure useful for:

• revolution (France, Russia, Italy, America)

• finance (Rothschild, banking interests)

• global unity (League of Nations, UN)

• false Christianity (denominational, Judeo-Christian ecumenical church)

It uses Biblical imagery — but not Biblical Truth.
It borrows Temple language — while rejecting the God of the Temple.
It speaks of Light — but redefines Light as human reason, not Jesus Christ.

The Four Possible Origins — Summarized

Freemasonry is not ancient, but it is old in spirit.
It carries forward the spiritual ambition of Babel, the intellectual pride of Greece, the secret mysticism of Egypt, the political craft of Rome, and the cunning of Mystery Babylon — formed into a modern system of brotherhood, human unity, self-exaltation, and rebellion against divine order.

SECTION III

The 43 A.D. Origin Claim — The “Mysterious Force” Theory

The GS Manuscript — Narrative, Symbolism, and Identity-Based Analysis

Among all Freemasonry origin theories, one stands apart — not because it is historically verified, but because it offers a theological pattern, a spiritual blueprint that aligns with Scripture, early church persecution, and later Masonic philosophy.

This is known as the G.S. Lawrence Manuscript — The Dissipation of the Darkness: The History of the Origin of Freemasonry, which tells of a secret fraternity allegedly founded in 43 A.D., called:

The Mysterious Force

It claims:

• Freemasonry was born under Herod Agrippa, high priest elites, and temple authorities.

• It was established to silence the Apostles, preserve Jewish authority, and create a secret universal brotherhood motivated by control, secrecy, and opposition to Christianity.

• Its founder was Hiram Abiud — described as a “friend of Hiram Abiff,” a Herodian court official, “descendant of Cain,” and organizer of secret orders opposing the early Church.

Whether or not historically precise — the manuscript is spiritually insightful, because it contains the very same elements that Freemasonry later embraces:

✔ Anti-Christian purpose
✔ Use of temple language & mystical knowledge
✔ Descent from Cain (builder, wanderer, city-maker)
✔ Brotherhood based on secrecy, initiation, and power
✔ Rejection of Jesus Christ as Messiah
✔ A system that substitutes human reason for divine revelation

What the G.S. Manuscript Actually Suggests

It claims that this group (The Mysterious Force/ The Association):

• Organized a secret oath-bound brotherhood to protect their influence against the growing Christian church.

• Blended elements of Kabbalah, Talmud, and Egyptian mystery traditions.

• Used fig leaves, aprons, tools, vaults, pillars, and craft language long before Freemasonry.

• Taught that Hiram, not Christ, was the true “Widow’s Son” and keeper of divine wisdom.

• Saw knowledge, rather than revelation or faith, as the key to power and salvation.

Their motto:

“Thus we serve the Light — not the Lawgiver.”

We cannot treat this as literal history. But we can treat it as a spiritual template — because it mirrors what Freemasonry becomes:

The GS narrative is no longer “history”—
It is rather the self-image Masonry later adopts.

Biblical & Historical Context (When this Would Have Happened)

The manuscript places Freemasonry’s origin in 43 A.D., the same era as:

It is plausible—not as history—but as spiritual pattern.
The early church was opposed by a secret religious-political alliance—Sanhedrin + Herodian + Roman power structure.
Not Masonry—but something very much like it in spirit, motive, and method.

Identity-Based Theological Commentary

What makes the GS narrative useful is not its factual accuracy, but its symbolic alignment with Scripture and the behavior of Freemasonry:

Conclusion: The manuscript cannot be quoted as history,
but it can help us understand Freemasonry’s spiritual role as:

A continuation of the ancient Babylonian ambition—
to build unity, power, and salvation apart from Jesus Christ.

Whether or not Freemasonry began in 43 A.D., its spirit, its symbols, its alliance with Herodian logic, its substitution of knowledge for revelation, its co-opting of Temple language, and its hostility to the Christian Way — are entirely real.

The GS narrative may not be factual history, but it accurately portrays what Freemasonry became.

Research Note & Interpretive Disclaimer
In this section (and throughout-noted), I have chosen to include select highlights from my personal study of the GS/Lawrence manuscript that was presented to me in 2018. While this document cannot be confirmed as historically authentic, I found its narrative framework both engaging and remarkably aligned with the Scriptural record—particularly the persecution of the early Church under Herodian rule and the hostile actions of the Temple authorities in the book of Acts.

The manuscript’s descriptions of an early anti-Christian “Association” (or “Mysterious Force”) fit symbolically with the repeated uprisings, agitation, and accusations stirred up by Edomite Jewish religious authorities—seen in Acts 4, 5, 6, 13, 14, 17, 18, 19, 21, 23, and beyond. Whether literal or allegorical, this interpretation helps illustrate the organized opposition behind these events.

Therefore, while I do not present this manuscript as proven history, I do consider it a useful interpretive model that helps explain the continuity of religious hostility against the Apostles, the early ekklesia, and the covenant message of the Kingdom. SECTION IV

Judaism & Freemasonry — Claimed Ownership, Historical Influence, and Identity-Based Theological Understanding

Freemasonry makes two bold historical claims about its origins:
1️ ​​ That it descends from the Temple of Solomon,
2️ ​​ That its symbols, rituals, and sacred language come from ancient Hebrew (Israelite) tradition.

However, while Freemasonry uses biblical names (Solomon, Hiram, Jachin & Boaz) and borrows imagery from the Old Testament, its actual symbolic system is not based on the faith, worship, priesthood, or covenant of Israel — but instead on later Rabbinic, Kabbalistic, and Talmudic Judaism.

This distinction is critical.

Rabbinic Judaism ≠ Biblical Israel
Talmudic/Kabbalistic doctrine ≠ Old Testament Faith
Jewish does not equal Israelite, nor Hebrew

Historically, by the time of Christ, the ruling religious establishment in Judea (Pharisees, Sadducees, Sanhedrin) were not Israelite in blood nor faith, but largely Idumean (Edomite-Hittite) converts, as confirmed by Josephus, the Jewish Encyclopedia, and even Jewish historians themselves.

Their Babylonian-inspired mystical traditions — Kabbalah, Talmudic Legalism, Zohar magic, numerology, and esoteric ritual — are what later fed the development of Masonic symbolism and structure, not the true Mosaic or covenant faith of Israel.

And significantly —
it is not only Masons, but also Rabbinic Jewish scholars and historians, who openly claim Masonic symbolism is:

“Jewish in nature,
Jewish in symbolism,
and Jewish in purpose.”

⚠️ But — “Jewish” here ^ means Talmudic and Kabbalistic, not Biblical or Israelite in origin.

This section explores the historical, ethnic, and theological distinction —
separating legitimate symbolism from counterfeit,
revealed covenant from invented ritual,
and Hebrew truth from Rabbinic mysticism.

How Freemasonry Publicly Identifies with Judaism

Masonic rituals, lectures, manuals, and lodge literature frequently use biblical imagery:

Freemasonry borrows heavily from biblical names, imagery, and temple symbolism, but it does not preserve the covenant meaning, nor does it reflect true Israelite faith or worship. Instead, these symbols are reinterpreted through Rabbinic, Kabbalistic, and mystical philosophy, transforming biblical truth into allegory, ritual, and esoteric doctrine.

Masonry does not build churches — it builds symbolic lodges and “temples”, patterned not after New Testament worship, nor the true Temple of YHWH, but after a Talmudic–Kabbalistic concept of temple, rooted in mysticism, initiatory secrecy, and human ascent through “degrees.”

Its structure reflects rabbinic hierarchy, using officer titles such as:
Worshipful Master, Grand King, High Priest, Grand Architect, and Most Excellent, echoing names taken not from the Bible’s priesthood — but from Babylonian rabbinic tradition.

Freemasonry deliberately employs:

• Hebrew letters and mystical scripts (Yod, Shin, Tau)

• Kabbalistic numerology, magic squares, and Tree of Life symbolism

• Anti-Christian concepts from Talmudic and Masonic sources, including:
  Noachide Law (laws for Gentiles — submission to Jewish authority)
  The Lost Word (search for a mystical name of god apart from Christ)
  Ineffable Name (G-d’s hidden name, accessible only through ritual ascent)

Thus, Freemasonry is not historically Israelite/Hebrew, it is undeniably:

Jewish in language,
Rabbinic in structure,
Kabbalistic in symbolism,
and mystical in religious form.

What Jewish Sources Claim About Freemasonry

Rabbi Isaac Wise, in The Israelite (1866):

“Masonry is a Jewish institution, whose history, degrees, charges, symbols, and explanations are Jewish from beginning to end.”

Jewish Tribune (New York, Oct. 28, 1927):

“Freemasonry is based on Judaism. Eliminate the teaching of Judaism from the rituals of Masonry and what is left?”

La Verite Israelite, 1861:

“Masonry is a Jewish institution, whose principles are taught in Hebrew schools.”

Encyclopedia of Freemasonry, Albert Mackey (33°):

“The entire structure of Freemasonry is founded upon the Temple of Solomon and Hebrew history.”

B’nai B’rith (Jewish-only Masonic branch):

Founded 1843 in New York. A Masonic-style lodge for Jews only — with “no Gentile admitted.”
Its purpose: protect Jewish interests through fraternal lodge organization.

Jewish Encyclopedia (1903, Vol. 5, p. 503):

“The technical language, symbolism, and rites of Freemasonry are full of Jewish ideas and terms… In its light, Masonry is more a Jewish institution than Christians suspect.”

These are not claims from anti-Masonic critics —
These are claims by Jewish historians, rabbis, encyclopedias, and direct Masonic testimony.

Freemasonry, the Temple, and Ownership of Symbolism

Freemasonry claims to be the inheritor of the Temple of Solomon, but:

Jewish scholars respond differently:

“The Temple belongs to Judaism.
Freemasonry borrows our symbols — but not our faith.”
— Rabbi Jacob Ben Ammi

Many Jews reject Freemasonry because Christianity “entered the Lodge.”
Others embrace it as a powerful vehicle to promote:

 ​​ ​​​​ Universal tolerance (Religious relativism)
 ​​​​ Noachide Law (Talmudic universalism)
 ​​​​ Brotherhood of Gentile and Jew under reason—not covenant

Freemasonry uses biblical language and temple imagery —
but removes the God, meaning, and covenant truth those symbols were meant to reveal.

It uses the Temple of Solomon as allegory —
but replaces the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob with the Great Architect, an undefined universal deity.

It employs Hebrew letters and sacred names —
but removes YHWH (Yahweh) in favor of the Masonic invention Jah-Bul-On — a fusion of Yah, Baal, and Osiris, contradicting the First Commandment.

It is Jewish in language and mystical form — but not Israelite in covenant, nor Biblical in faith.

Freemasonry is not based on the faith of Abraham—it is based on the mysticism of Babylon.
It is not Hebraic in covenant—it is Rabbinic in symbol and Kabbalistic in structure.
It does not reflect Old Testament Israel—it reflects post-temple Judaism, shaped by the Talmud, Zohar, Kabbalah, and Hermetic mystery religion.

It borrows from the Bible,
but denies the God of the Bible.
It uses Temple symbols,
but rejects the Cornerstone.

Why Catholicism Condemned Freemasonry — But Judaism Never Has

The Catholic Church saw Masonry as a political and religious threat.
Judaism historically saw Masonry as a political opportunity.

Christian Kingdom Identity-Based Theological Interpretation

Freemasonry is not “Jewish” in the Biblical sense
— but it carries the mark of Talmudic Judaism, Kabbalah, and Temple mysticism.

It represents:
​​ The religious ambition of Mystery Babylon
​​ The unity of merchants, priests, and kings (Revelation 18)
​​ A false spiritual house — a Temple built without Covenant, without Christ, without Law
​​ A priesthood of humanity — not of the Kingdom

It is not Israelite-origin
It is not Christian-origin
It is Humanist-Kabbalistic-Jewish origin, borrowing Israelite imagery, while rejecting Israel’s God.

Freemasonry is not authentically Hebrew in faith — but it is undeniably Jewish in origin, symbolism, language, ritual, and historical association.

It uses Hebrew names but rejects Yahweh.
It uses Temple imagery but replaces the Cornerstone (Christ).
It uses Biblical language—but empties it of covenant meaning.

It is not the religion of Israel — but it borrows the clothing of it,
to construct an entirely different house.

SECTION V

Rituals, Symbols, and Language — Biblical Borrowing, Inverted Meaning, and Spiritual Mockery

Freemasonry claims its rituals and symbols are merely moral allegories — harmless “lessons in character, charity, and brotherly conduct.” But the rituals themselves tell a very different story. They borrow language, imagery, ceremonial forms, and even sacred objects straight from Scripture — not to honor the Bible, but to repurpose it.

Freemasonry does not use symbols to teach Scripture, but to replace Scripture with a new meaning — sometimes subtly, sometimes directly. Its symbols are not ornamental — they are doctrinal.

Freemasonry does not hide its secrets —

It displays them everywhere —
But unless one accepts the Lodge's meaning, the truth is hidden in plain sight.

The Apron and the Fig Leaves — The First and Last False Covering

In the first degree, every initiate is given a white apron, which is called:

“The badge of a Mason — the symbol of innocence and purity.”

But biblically, aprons have one symbolic meaning:

“And they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.” — Genesis 3:7

The first covering invented by man after sin was an apron — a covering not given by God, but made by human effort — representing self-righteousness, not true righteousness.

Freemasonry literally begins with giving the initiate the same covering Adam made for himself — symbolizing man-made righteousness.

Biblical covering — by blood (atonement, Lamb)
Masonic covering — by apron (human effort)
That is not symbolic coincidence — it is symbolic replacement.

The Motto of Initiation: “From Darkness to Light”

At every initiation, the candidate enters blindfolded, in literal darkness.
He is then “brought to Light” — but it is not the Light of God’s Word.

When the blindfold is removed, the Worshipful Master says:

“My Brother, I now present to you — Light.”

But Jesus said:

“I am the Light of the world… he that followeth Me shall not walk in darkness.” — John 8:12

In Freemasonry — Light is not Christ, but knowledge, morality, and human enlightenment.

In the Lodge, ignorance is darkness — not sin.
Enlightenment is knowledge — not redemption.

Hiram Abiff — The “Widow’s Son,” Symbolic Messiah, and Anti-Christ Figure

At the highest ritual level of the Blue Lodge (third degree), Freemasonry reenacts its most mystical ceremony — The Death, Burial, and Raising of Hiram Abiff, called the founder of Masonry, the Builder of Solomon’s Temple, and “Keeper of the Word.”

Every Mason must symbolically die, be placed in a grave, and then be raised back to life using the Lion’s Grip — not by Jesus Christ, not by faith — but by the Master of the Lodge (human authority).

Why is this ritual troubling?

Hiram is not just a character — he is used as a replacement savior:

A savior of wisdom, not righteousness
A redeemer of mystery, not sin
A resurrection of human potential, not eternal life
An Anti-Christ substitute

Freemasonry does not deny Christ —
it replaces Him.

The Grave, Coffin, and Acacia Tree — A False Resurrection Ceremony

In the ritual:

1️⃣ The candidate lies in a symbolic coffin or grave.
2️⃣ He is “raised” from death — not by Christ — but by a man (the Worshipful Master).
3️⃣ He is told: “You have been raised to a new life in Masonry.”

But Scripture is clear:

“Ye are risen with Him through the faith of the operation of God.”
— Colossians 2:12

In Masonry — a dead man is raised by
​​ ritual,
​​ oath,
​​ and a human savior (Hiram/Master).

This is a spiritual counterfeit —
It resembles resurrection, but without Christ, without blood, without atonement, and without covenant.

“The Lost Word” — Jesus Christ’s Name Rejected, Replaced, and Forbidden

After the ritual “raising,” the candidate is told:

“The Word is lost. It will one day be found.”

In Christian faith:

The Word is not lost — the Word was made flesh (John 1:14),
and His Name is above every name (Phil. 2:9),
and salvation is found only in Him (Acts 4:12).

But in Masonry, Jesus Christ’s name is forbidden in prayer — and substituted with:

Jah-Bul-On — a composite term merging:
Jah = Jehovah
Bul = Baal (Canaanite god)
On = Osiris (Egyptian god of the dead)

This is now openly documented in Masonic literature.

Theological Insight — The Purpose of Rituals

Masonic rituals do not just reflect Biblical imagery —
they reassign it.

In Scripture:

Man cannot build his way to God — God must come to man.

In Freemasonry:

Man builds the Temple—
man becomes the light—
man raises himself from darkness—
man creates his own brotherhood—
and man attempts to become divine.

This is the oldest ambition of man —

SECTION VI

The Three Primary Purposes of Freemasonry

According to Historical Evidence, Masonic Doctrine, and Christian Identity-Based Analysis

Once we understand Freemasonry’s symbols, oaths, and rituals, a question emerges:

Why does Freemasonry exist? What is its goal?
Is it simply a fraternity? A social club? A religious society?
Or does it serve a much larger purpose in world affairs — spiritually, politically, and socially?
