KINDLE

This study will reveal the uses of kindle.

The reason for this study started out to find answers on the law of kindling a fire on the Shabbath day.

Exodus 35:3  Ye shall kindle no fire throughout your habitations upon the sabbath day.

On the surface, it seems as if we are prohibited from starting or having a fire on every Shabbath. That would mean no fires for cooking or staying warm. Today it would also mean no electric for lighting, heat, cooking or hot water to shower.

Is this what Yahweh commands?

Let's examine the words that define what kindle means.

The first word defining 'kindle' is charah H2734.

Yahweh was going to start over with Moses and make his seed a great nation.

Adam Clarke's Commentary on the Bible. Adam Clarke, LL.D., F.S.A., (1715-1832)
Exodus 35:3 Ye shall kindle no fire - The Israelites understand this precept as forbidding the kindling of fire only for the purpose of doing work or dressing victuals; but to give them light and heat, they judge it lawful to light a fire on the Sabbath day,

Jesus said it is lawful to do well on this day such as healing the sick or pulling an animal out of a hole it had fallen in. (Matthew 12:10-12) And in Mark 2:25 we read, “Have you never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungered?” Did you notice that Jesus used the words “When he had need?” Things of necessity are lawful to do on the Sabbath and eating is a necessity and why it was lawful for David to do what he did. And if you are cold or freezing in the wilderness then lighting a fire to keep warm would not be breaking the Commandment either since that would be a necessity. Scripture constantly shows that things that were necessary for Yahweh's work or for our well being in any way and even that of an injured animal such as one stuck in a pit is perfectly acceptable to do on His Sabbath. God promised that in keeping this day that we would be blessed and sitting around cold or unable to eat or cook your food is not a blessing. God loves and cares for us and would never want us to suffer by keeping His day holy.

Kindling a Fire   From Yahweh's Assembly in Yahshua yaiy.org ( http://www.yaiy.org/Magazine/articles/1001backgroundfire.html )

The second set of stone tablets evidently indicate a renewal of the Covenant in chapter 35 and the construction of the Tabernacle can again proceed:

And Moses gathered all the congregation of the children of Israel together, and said unto them, These [are] the words (elleh d'bariym) which Yahweh hath commanded, that [you] should do them. Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day, a Sabbath of rest to Yahweh: whoso- ever doeth work therein shall be put to death. Ye shall kindle no fire throughout your habitations upon the Sabbath day. (Ex 35:1-3 AV)
Note the following verse from chapter 31:15 is practically verbatim with the above verses, specifically the underlined verse 35:2.

Exodus 31:15  Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the shabbath of rest, holy (set apart) to Yahweh: whosoever doeth any work in the shabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.

This shows a resumption of the Tabernacle construction. Thus, we see that chapters from 31, including 32, 33, and 34, until chapter 35, construction had apparently stopped. The builders likely were eager to get back to work again. Yahweh, knowing this cautioned Israel not to kindle a fire while it was still the Sabbath, verse 3.
Six days may work be done; but in the seventh [is] the Sabbath of rest, holy to Yahweh: whosoever doeth [any] work in the Sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death. (Ex 31:15 AV)
There is an added message that we want to examine which was not in the first command from Yahweh, namely verse 3:
You shall kindle no fire throughout your habitations upon the Sabbath day!
This statement has been studied and discussed through the ages. Because it says Israel was not to kindle a fire, some Rabbis taught one could add fuel to an already burning flame. Others felt a new fire, henceforth, was not to be started under any circumstances. Some Bible readers comply by shutting off all their electricity for the 24 hours of the Sabbath. They have frozen ice made for the refrigerator. Some go so far to ban driving an automobile because spark plugs ignite the gasoline. The list goes on. What is the answer? Does this verse apply to us today?
The construction of the Tabernacle was in full swing. The Egyptians had loaded them down with materials, gold and silver, as well as cloth and coverings for their journey. Master craftsmen Bezalel and Oholiab, guided by Yahweh’s Spirit, were in a league of attainment by themselves. All Israel was consumed with having Yahweh’s Tabernacle completed and Yahweh Himself would be among them. They looked for the day when everything would be ready and in place. Already excitement was contagious.

Hot Fire Needed—The Key to the Puzzle
In His wisdom Yahweh emphasized the necessity of keeping the Sabbath as a complete rest for man and beast. It was only natural the people wanted to get the construction of the Tabernacle up and running. Surely the thought came to the people to get the fire started late on the Sabbath for the smelting of metals. When the sun did set a few hours later, the fires would be hot and the smelting of gold, silver and copper could begin.
A fire hotter than usual was needed for smelting the metals of the copper, silver and gold for making rings, gold and silver sockets, copper clasps, and the gold sockets for the Tabernacle. In addition, the ark was made of acacia wood and overlaid with gold, inside and out, with two gold rings on each side and the cover was of pure gold as were the two cherubim. The bowls, ladles, jugs and jars were all made of pure gold including the menorah (lampstand). By now they would be aware of the wood that gave the hottest fire.
Kindling a fire late on the Sabbath, a short time before sunset to get Yahweh’s Tabernacle completed, would be a natural thing to do. Kindling a fire on a late Sabbath afternoon would give a hot fire ready to start smelting metal as soon as the Sabbath ended. This is likely the reason for the command against starting a fire on the Sabbath.
The Interpreter’s Bible note (page 1082) says, “For all the work you have planned you shall kindle no fire…on the Sabbath day,” making the fires refer to those needed for the work in metals (Beer, Exodus p.164).

Chapter 35 v2 Six to continue measures to proceed to finish work.  And amid day the seventh, so to be toward you to revere to Sabbath.  Sabbath being to follow toward Creator.  All the to make to be inside work, day to continue. v3 To not exist to continue to burn being fire amid all those Sabbaths of you, amid day, the to rest.

Paraphrased English

v2 Six continuous measure proceed to finish work.  And amid the seventh day it shall be for you to revere to rest.  To rest being to follow for Creator.  All of that which makes shall be inside the continuous days. v3 Do not continue to be burning (work) fire amid all those Sabbaths of yours, during the day to rest.

One of the most misunderstood scriptures, due to the massive mistranslation of the word  which in the bible appears as "habitations".

Correct the word "habitations" and the context makes it obvious that the passage is work related, speaking of constructions, hence the fires are work fires.

In order to bypass the concept of not being able to light fires, the word  "to burn", was changed to "kindle", where it is mostly used as "burn" which is correct.  This of course compounding one mistake upon another, some believing it meant to start a fire, others, the full act of creating one. Modern followers have so misinterpreted the scripture in its incorrect form, as to not even turn on an electrical item for fear of breaking Creator's law.  At the same time, the fires for Creator's sacrifices are written to burn always, allowing the priests to remain warm while the common folk would withstand the discomfort of the cold.

Leviticus 6:13 The fire must be kept burning on the altar continuously; it must not go out. Thus once again, the present translation mysteriously paints Creator as distant, malicious and uncaring.  These mistakes which do this are far too prevalent to be by chance. Our BIG problem with the above translation, is how obvious it is that the mistranslation was done on purpose.

So lets again read the bible verses and then the SDH corrected ones.

2 Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you a holy day, a sabbath of solemn rest to Yahweh; whosoever doeth any work therein shall be put to death.

3 Ye shall kindle no fire throughout your habitations upon the sabbath day.'

Self Defining Hebrew corrected

v2 Six continuous measure proceed to finish work.  And amid the seventh day it shall be for you to revere to rest.  To rest being to follow for Creator.  All of that which makes work shall be inside the continuous days.

v3 Do not continue to be burning (work) fire amid all those Sabbaths of yours, during the day to rest.

Now you will notice that we have placed the word "work" which does not appear in the Hebrew, into the verse.  Why?  People are so brainwashed in the verse, that we felt it important to show the intent of the verse.  These are not house fires, as the word habitation or dwelling is gone. Next, one must look at the previous verse and read: All of that which makes work shall be inside the continuous days.

All that makes work! The next line then speaks of the fires.  Look at all that was written in context.  Not CON text.

This line speaking of fires, is in a section speaking of material construction needs for the tabernacle.  Creator does not randomly throw stuff around to hide it from you to see if you are paying attention.  Why would a direction on house fires be randomly thrown into a section dealing with the tabernacle?

It wouldn't! Business fires are for work.  All that makes work is constrained to the six working days.  Let your fires go out at work, keep them burning at home!

Leviticus 6:9  Command Aaron and his sons, saying, This is the law of the burnt offering: It is the burnt offering, because of the burning (hearth) upon the altar all night unto the morning, and the fire of the altar shall be burning (H3344- to burn) in it.

6:12  And the fire upon the altar shall be burning (H3344- to burn) in it; it shall not be put out: and the priest shall burn (H1197- to burn, consume) wood on it every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order upon it; and he shall burn (H6999- sacrificial smoke, offer incense) thereon the fat of the peace offerings.

6:13  The fire shall ever be burning (H3344- to burn) upon the altar; it shall never go out.

So is Leviticus 6:13 contradicting Exodus 35:3?

In your dwelling-places you may not kindle a fire, but you may kindle it in the Sanctuary? No. As shown in Exodus 35, the context is work fires. The fire upon the altar in the Tabernacle was to remain burning. The fires used for work related jobs and needs were not to be kindled on the Shabbath Day because it is a day of rest from work and labor.

Numbers 11:1  And when the people complained, it displeased Yahweh: and Yahweh heard it (it was evil to the ear); and His anger was kindled (H2734- provoked, irritated, furious); and the fire of Yahweh burnt (H1197- burning wrath) among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp.

11:2  And the people cried to Moses: and Moses prayed to Yahweh, and the fire (anger) was quenched

11:3  And he called the name of the place Taberah (burning): because the fire (anger) of Yahweh burnt (H1197- burned with wrath) among them.

11:10  Then Moses heard the people weep throughout their families, every man in the door of his tent: and the anger of Yahweh was kindled (H2734- irritated, angered by provocation) greatly; Moses also was displeased.

The Israelites complained because the 'mixed multitude' could not be satisfied with the manna (spiritual food) and craved earthly food, leading the Israelites to follow earthly lusts rather than spiritual.

11:33  And while the flesh (quails) was yet between their teeth, ere it was chewed, the wrath of Yahweh was kindled (H2734- inflamed to violent anger) against the people, and Yahweh smote the people with a very great plague.

11:34  And he called the name of that place Kibrothhattaavah: because there they buried the people that lusted.

It was the mixed multitude that were the people that lusted. And of course the Israelites that followed their example.

Numbers 11:4  And the mixed multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat?

11:35  And the people journeyed from Kibrothhattaavah unto Hazeroth; and abode at Hazeroth.

Kibrothhattaavah means Graves of Lust.

Numbers 12:9  And the anger of Yahweh was kindled (H2734- furious, irritated, provoked) against them (Aaron and Miriam for speaking against Moses); and He departed.

Numbers 15:32  And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man (H376) that gathered sticks upon the sabbath day.

15:33  And they that found him gathering sticks brought him unto Moses and Aaron, and unto all the congregation.

So are these verses contradicting Exodus 35:3 and Leviticus 6:9? No. Although it is not clear exactly what this man was gathering sticks for, it must have been for either a work fire, or a fire to burn to a false god. It is also possible that the work of gathering sticks may not be done on a Shabbath either. The man is not identified as an adam H120, but as an iysh H376 (probably a pagan from Egypt). The situation continues and the following context seems to show Yahweh reiterating His commands and warning of following after your own heart rather than Yahweh's will.

15:34  And they put him in ward, because it was not declared what should be done to him.

Leviticus 24:12  And they put him in ward, that the mind of Yahweh might be shewed them.

15:35  And Yahweh said unto Moses, The man shall be surely put to death: all the congregation shall stone him with stones without the camp.

15:36  And all the congregation brought him without the camp, and stoned him with stones, and he died; as Yahweh commanded Moses.

Next is a commandment.

15:37  And Yahweh spake unto Moses, saying,

15:38  Speak unto the children of Israel, and bid them that they make them fringes in the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put upon the fringe of the borders a ribband (thread) of blue (or violet):

15:39  And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that you may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of Yahweh, and do them; and that you seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which you use to go a whoring (prostitute yourselves):

15:40  That you may remember, and do all My commandments, and be holy unto your God.

15:41  I am Yahweh your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am Yahweh your God.

Numbers 24:22  Nevertheless the Kenite (seed of Cain) shall be wasted (H1197- consumed, destroyed, removed), until Asshur shall carry you away captive.

Numbers 32:10  And Yahweh's anger was kindled (H2734- inflamed, irritated, furious) the same time, and He sware, saying,

32:11  Surely none of the men that came up out of Egypt, from twenty years old and upward, shall see the land which I sware unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob; because they have not wholly followed Me:

32:12  Save Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite, and Joshua the son of Nun: for they have wholly followed Yahweh.

32:13  And Yahweh's anger was kindled (H2734- provoked, inflamed) against Israel, and He made them wander in the wilderness forty years, until all the generation, that had done evil in the sight of Yahweh, was consumed.

Deuteronomy 6:14  Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about you;

So shalt you put the evil away (H1197- abolish, remove) from the midst of you.

Deuteronomy 17:6  At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he that is worthy of death be put to death; but at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death.   (Num 35:30, Matt 18:16, 2 Cor 13:1, 1Tim 5:19, Heb 10:28)

17:7  The hands of the witnesses shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterward the hands of all the people. So you shalt put the evil away (H1197- remove) from among you.

17:11  According to the sentence of the law which they (priests) shall teach you, and according to the judgment which they shall tell you, you shalt do: you shalt not decline from the sentence which they shall shew you, to the right hand, nor to the left.
